Poker is played with a regular deck of 52 cards without Jokers. It is pretty much a game of chance. Sure there are a lot of professional players out there but the chance is always the same for anybody to get the right cards or not. Before you sit down at a poker table make sure to read the sign next to the dealer which shows the minimum table limit. After you make the first minimum bet, five cards are dealt at first, face down, to each player. There is a betting round after the first deal. You must at least call to stay into the game. You can leave all the cards or you can throw away some of them. All the cards can be kept and all the cards can be thrown away. After everybody on the table decides which cards they want to hold or discard, the dealer deals the same amount of cards to each player as they threw away. Then the second deal and the betting round follow. After the final betting round there is a showdown. The hands of the players are compared. The player with the strongest hand is the winner.

All bets made by all players go in a pile of chips in the center of the table, called the pot. If you don’t want to meet the highest bet by some other player you can’t compete for the pot. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. The object of the game is to win the pot. A player can win the pot in one of the two ways. After making all the bets there is a showdown. The player who has the strongest hand is the winner. If one of the players make a bet, which is not met by other players, he wins the pot without showing his cards. All cards of the 52 card deck are used. Each player receives one cards at a time. You cards are safe if you put them face down on the table and put a chip on top of them. The dealer has to offer a cut of the deck to the player to his right. The player can cut, tap or pass the cut to the player to his right. If the player decides to tap it means that there is no need for cutting. If you answer your mobile phone in the middle of a hand it means that you fold your hand. You’d better leave the phone at home or turn it off. A player should not talk across a player who is involved in a hand. Profanity and obscenities are forbidden. Shouting is forbidden. You can leave the casino anytime. Have respect for the dealer and his job. It is not the dealer’s fault if you lose. It will be better if other players don’t see the cards you discard, so you’d better discard them on a low line of flight. Place chips as far forward as reasonably possible to make it easier for the dealer to scoop them. Speak up when you see an error such as an improper amount of a bet, a card going to the wrong person or a flashed card, or the pot about to be incorrectly awarded.

During the Civil War stud poker, the draw, and the straight Poker appeared and became very popular. New Poker variations such as Stud, Draw and Straight Pokers enjoyed wide popularity during the Wild West period of the US history. Only when playing Poker you play against other players and not against the house. Though there are a lot of Poker variations, which differ from each other, the principle of winning hands remain the same. Nowadays you can play Poker in any casino in nearly any country.
