How To Play Poker
Poker is played with a regular deck of 52 cards without Jokers. It is pretty much a game of chance. Sure there are a lot of professional players out there but the chance is always the same for anybody to get the right cards or not. Before you sit down at a poker table make sure to read the sign next to the dealer which shows the minimum table limit. After you make the first minimum bet, five cards are dealt at first, face down, to each player. The first deal is followed by the first betting round. To stay into the game you have to make a bet equal to the highest bet made by one of the players. It is up to the player to decide which cards he wants to keep and which to throw away. All the cards can be kept and all the cards can be thrown away. The cards which were thrown away will be replaced with the same number of cards. Then the second deal and the betting round follow. After everybody on the table is done with the betting the highest ranked hand wins and gets whatever is in the pot in the middle.

In a High/Low Poker game, two players have the opportunity to win and split the pot. The player with the highest-ranking hand and the player with the lowest-ranking hand win. All bets made by all players go in a pile of chips in the center of the table, called the pot. No player can compete for the pot unless he or she is willing to meet the highest bet made by another player. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. Every player tries to win the jackpot. A player can win the pot in one of the two ways. After making all the bets there is a showdown. The player who has the strongest hand is the winner. If during betting, a player makes a bet that no other players are willing to meet, that player wins the pot without showing his/her cards. A 52-card deck is used in the game of Poker. Only one card at a time is dealt. The cards are dealt in a clockwise direction. Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5.

The winnerracks the pot and only then you can move another player's cards. You can touch or move the cards of other gamblers only if they permit it. You cards are safe if you put them face down on the table and put a chip on top of them. The dealer has to offer a cut of the deck to the player to his right. The player can cut, tap or pass the cut to the player to his right. If the player decides to tap it means that there is no need for cutting. If you answer your mobile phone in the middle of a hand it means that you fold your hand. Don’t take your cell phone with you or turn it off. It is not allowed to talk to other players involved in the game. You can be asked to leave the casino in the case of some profanity or obscenities from you. You can’t shout in the casino. You can leave the casino anytime. Every player must respect the dealer and his job. It is not the dealer’s fault if you lose. Cards must be discarded on a low line of flight so that people can't see them. Place chips as far forward as reasonably possible to make it easier for the dealer to scoop them. Never be silent if you notice some mistake or misunderstand something.

The game of Poker is based on several games, but still nobody can say for sure what these games are. Poker can be based on one of the Chinese or Persian card games. According to some books and dictionaries the game came from France. China was the first country in which card games appeared, in Persia there was a game with 25 cards and 5 suits and in France gamblers began to use decks consisting of suits made from spades, diamonds, clubs, and hearts. The true origin of the game remains shrouded in mystery. In the USA the game of Poker originated from New Orleans and spread along the riverboats that traveled the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. In 1835 Poker was one of the most popular games and then it was different from the modern version of the game. New Poker variations, which were also very popular appeared during the Civil War. Such Poker variations as Stud, Draw, Straight Poker appeared and they were played by millions of gamblers. During the Wild West period of United States history, a place where one could play Poker could be found in just about every town. Only when playing Poker you play against other players and not against the house. Though there are a lot of Poker variations, which differ from each other, the principle of winning hands remain the same. Nowadays Poker is one of the popular and most played card games in the world.
