Poker Rules
Poker is played with a regular deck of 52 cards without Jokers. It is pretty much a game of chance. Sure there are a lot of professional players out there but the chance is always the same for anybody to get the right cards or not. Before you sit down at a poker table make sure to read the sign next to the dealer which shows the minimum table limit. After you make the first minimum bet, five cards are dealt at first, face down, to each player. After this first deal the first round of betting starts. To stay into the game you have to make a bet equal to the highest bet made by one of the players. Afterwards you have to decide which cards you want to keep and which ones you want to throw away. If you have good cards you can hold all of them, if you have bad cards you can throw away all of them as well. You will the same number of cards instead of those you have thrown away. Then the second deal and the betting round follow. The betting round is followed by the showdown, which determines the winner. The player with the strongest hand wins the pot.

Poker is a game of betting as to which player holds the best hand. In most cases, best hand contains the five highest-ranking cards, but what is considered the best hand can vary in some types of Poker. In a High/Low Poker game, two players have the opportunity to win and split the pot. The player with the highest-ranking hand and the player with the lowest-ranking hand win. All bets made by all players go in a pile of chips in the center of the table, called the pot. If you don’t want to meet the highest bet by some other player you can’t compete for the pot. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. The object of the game is to win the pot. A player can win the pot in one of the two ways. When all the bets are made by the players, they show down their cards. The player with the best hand wins. The player can make a very high bet, which will not be supported by other players. In this case other players have to fold and the player with the high bet is the winnerwithout showing his cards. All cards of the 52 card deck are used. Each player receives one cards at a time. The cards are dealt clockwise. Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5.

The winnerracks the pot and only then you can move another player's cards. You can touch or move the cards of other gamblers only if they permit it. You cards are safe if you put them face down on the table and put a chip on top of them. The dealer has to offer a cut of the deck to the player to his right. The player can cut, tap or pass the cut to the player to his right. If the player decides to tap it means that there is no need for cutting. If you answer your mobile phone in the middle of a hand it means that you fold your hand. Don’t take your cell phone with you or turn it off. A player should not talk across a player who is involved in a hand. Profanity and obscenities are forbidden. Players can’t shout in the casino, even if you win or lose. Remember that you can stop playing anytime. You must hold the dealer and his job in respect. The dealer is not to blame if you don’t win. It will be better if other players don’t see the cards you discard, so you’d better discard them on a low line of flight. Place chips as far forward as reasonably possible to make it easier for the dealer to scoop them. Never be silent if you notice some mistake or misunderstand something.

According to some books and dictionaries the game came from France. China was the first country in which card games appeared, in Persia there was a game with 25 cards and 5 suits and in France gamblers began to use decks consisting of suits made from spades, diamonds, clubs, and hearts. The true origin of the game remains shrouded in mystery. In the USA the game appeared in New Orleans and it was spread all over the country. At the beginning of the 19th century the game was extremely popular, but it differed from the modern version of the game. During the civil war other Poker variations appeared and they were very popular. During the Civil War stud poker, the draw, and the straight Poker appeared and became very popular. New Poker variations such as Stud, Draw and Straight Pokers enjoyed wide popularity during the Wild West period of the US history. Poker is the only casino game, in which players play against each other, but not against the house. There are a lot of Poker variations, which differ from each other in some features, but still the hierarchy of winning hand combinations remains the same. Nowadays Poker is one of the popular and most played card games in the world.
