Poker is played with a regular deck of 52 cards without Jokers. It is pretty much a game of chance. Sure there are a lot of professional players out there but the chance is always the same for anybody to get the right cards or not. Before you sit down at a poker table make sure to read the sign next to the dealer which shows the minimum table limit. After you make the first minimum bet, five cards are dealt at first, face down, to each player. After this first deal the first round of betting starts. You must at least call to stay into the game. You can leave all the cards or you can throw away some of them. If you have good cards you can hold all of them, if you have bad cards you can throw away all of them as well. You will the same number of cards instead of those you have thrown away. Then there is the last deal, which is followed by the betting round. The betting round is followed by the showdown, which determines the winner. The player with the strongest hand wins the pot.

The object of the game is to win the pot. There are two ways of winning the pot. After all bets are in, all players that are still in show their hands. You cards are safe if you put them face down on the table and put a chip on top of them. The dealer has to offer a cut of the deck to the player to his right. The player can cut, tap or pass the cut to the player to his right. If the player decides to tap it means that there is no need for cutting. If you answer your mobile phone in the middle of a hand it means that you fold your hand. Don’t take your cell phone with you or turn it off. Players can’t talk to each other during the game. Profanity and obscenities are forbidden. Shouting is forbidden. You can leave the casino anytime. Every player must respect the dealer and his job. If you lose and think that the dealer is to blame, you are mistaken. Cards must be discarded on a low line of flight so that people can't see them. Place chips as far forward as reasonably possible to make it easier for the dealer to scoop them. Speak up when you see an error such as an improper amount of a bet, a card going to the wrong person or a flashed card, or the pot about to be incorrectly awarded.

According to some books and dictionaries the game came from France. China was the first country in which card games appeared, in Persia there was a game with 25 cards and 5 suits and in France gamblers began to use decks consisting of suits made from spades, diamonds, clubs, and hearts. The true origin of the game remains shrouded in mystery. In the USA the game appeared in New Orleans and it was spread all over the country. At the beginning of the 19th century the game was extremely popular, but it differed from the modern version of the game. Later, during the Civil War there appeared new variations of this game and they became very popular. Such Poker variations as Stud, Draw, Straight Poker appeared and they were played by millions of gamblers. Poker could be played in nearly every town during the Wild West period in the USA. Poker is a unique game as each player plays against other players, but not against the house. There are a lot of Poker variations, which differ from each other in some features, but still the hierarchy of winning hand combinations remains the same. Nowadays you can play Poker in any casino in nearly any country.
