Poker is played with a regular deck of 52 cards without Jokers. It is pretty much a game of chance. Sure there are a lot of professional players out there but the chance is always the same for anybody to get the right cards or not. Before you sit down at a poker table make sure to read the sign next to the dealer which shows the minimum table limit. After you make the first minimum bet, five cards are dealt at first, face down, to each player. The first deal is followed by the first betting round. To stay into the game every player has to call. Afterwards you have to decide which cards you want to keep and which ones you want to throw away. You can hold all the cards as well as discard all of them. You will get the same number of cards in place of discarded ones. Then there is the last deal, which is followed by the betting round. After the final betting round there is a showdown. The hands of the players are compared. The player with the strongest hand is the winner.

To win the pot is the objective of the game. The pot can be won in two different ways. When all the bets are made by the players, they show down their cards. The player who has the strongest hand is the winner. If one of the players make a bet, which is not met by other players, he wins the pot without showing his cards. All cards of the 52 card deck are used. Only one card at a time is dealt. The cards are dealt in a clockwise direction. Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5.

The winner racks the pot and only then you can move another player's cards. You can touch or move the cards of other gamblers only if they permit it. You cards are safe if you put them face down on the table and put a chip on top of them. The dealer has to offer a cut of the deck to the player to his right. The player can cut, tap or pass the cut to the player to his right. If the player decides to tap it means that there is no need for cutting. If you answer your mobile phone in the middle of a hand it means that you fold your hand. You’d better leave the phone at home or turn it off. A player should not talk across a player who is involved in a hand. Never use profanity and obscenities during the game. Shouting is forbidden. You can leave the casino anytime. Have respect for the dealer and his job. If you lose and think that the dealer is to blame, you are mistaken. It will be better if other players don’t see the cards you discard, so you’d better discard them on a low line of flight. Place chips as far forward as reasonably possible to make it easier for the dealer to scoop them. Don’t keep silent if you notice that the dealer or some player has made a mistake.

The game of Poker became very popular nearly at once, but then it was a little different from the game we play now. Later, during the Civil War there appeared new variations of this game and they became very popular. During the Civil War stud poker, the draw, and the straight Poker appeared and became very popular. Poker could be played in nearly every town during the Wild West period in the USA. Poker is a unique game as each player plays against other players, but not against the house. Poker has many variations, although the rules of play and strategy differ, the hierarchy of winning hands remains the same. Nowadays Poker is one of the popular and most played card games in the world.
